‘Books’ imagines the hifi audio system as a product that populates the bookshelves. Denon products can be professional quality, expensive and focussed upon the audiophile. The design responds with a proposition that the older demographic that buys the product is keen on a minimalistic product that is camouflaged by its environment, the books that surround it. The design featured an interactive remote, which in 1991 was a propositon and not a reality, that lets the user use the product from the far couch.
